
On November 25, 2024, Svitlana Shytikova, coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, and Natalia Oliynyk, manager of CBHE project DigiFLEd at Karazin University, joined a live broadcast on TSN. They shared the successes and future prospects of EC support for Ukrainian education and youth.
Funding and Opportunities for Universities
Svitlana Shytikova highlighted EU-funded projects that provide unique opportunities for:
- Staff professional development.
- Study visits and training for students and educators.
- Modernizing education programs with practical orientations in collaboration with employers.

The EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Ms. Katarína Mathernová outlined the EU’s broader support, including €200 million for Ukrainian education. These funds have enabled:
- School bus purchases.
- A school meal program launch.
- Printing and distribution of 1.5 million textbooks on arts and IT with EU support, some of which Ms. Mathernová personally delivered to a Kyiv high school.

Advancing Higher Education Innovation
Natalia Oliynyk presented results from two Erasmus+ projects implemented at Karazin university aimed at modernizing foreign language teaching in Ukraine:
- MultiED: Trained educators in CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning);
- DigiFLEd: Karazin University, alongside 10 consortium partners, is advancing foreign language programs with cutting-edge IT integration.
